MOD I - Learning Theory Fundamentals

 

- Slide presentation on learning quadrant  - Reinforcements (+/-) and Punishments (+/-)

- Homework - List 3 examples from each quadrant and turn in to instructor

- Complete the MOD 1 KC (knowledge check) and turn in to instructor

- Complete self-evaluation – what type of learner are you

​

MOD II - Canine Body Language - view video found under Online Classes tab.

The password is dogsmarts, all lowercase.

 

- Slide presentation on body language

– How to read your dog. Distance increasing and distance decreasing behaviors

- Safe dog handling techniques

- Playgroup manual - reading

- Review Ian Dunbar's bite scale

​

​

​

​

- Fill out a playgroup sheet for dogs that you observe

- Observe videos to practice reading body language

 

MOD III - Training Module 

 

- Training Game – hands on activity to experience learning from a dog’s perspective

- Training basic behaviors – live demonstration and hands on activity

- Read info on training collars

- Take MOD III quiz and turn in to instructor

 

MOD IV - Assessments

 

-  Slide presentation - Pup Partners ™ behavior assessment program

 

MOD V - Behavior Modification

 

- Slide presentation – understanding the training and behavior plan for your dog

​

 

 

 

Complete project sheet once you are done with your behavior shaping project for the foundation level and turn in to instructor. Demo when ready to group, instructor or video and submit for final review.

 

Certificates are signed and awarded once all the above requirements are met.
